Katy Perry nació en Santa Bárbara, Estados Unidos; El 25 de octubrede 1984 así la conocen artísticamente, pero su verdadero nombre es Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, es cantante y compositora, que alcanzó la fama en 2007 con su éxito de Internet "Ur soi Gay", y más tarde, en 2008 y 2009 , con sus exitosos sencillos de "I kissed a girl" y "Hot & Cold".Sus padres son pastores cristianos y creció escuchando sólo música gospel. Después de obtener el GED, durante su primer año de la escuela secundaria, comenzó una carrera musical.
Katy Hudson lanzó un álbum homónimo en 2001. En 2004, grabó un álbum con el equipo de producción The Matrix, pero nunca fue lanzado. Después de firmar contrato con Capitol Music Group en 2007, tomó el nombre artístico de Katy Perry y lanzó su segundo álbum, One of the Boys.
